Summary on Grant Application Form |
Engineers and material scientists create, and interact with, many forms of 3D data which is normally viewed on 2D computer screens. New interface techniques use special 3D screens and hand held probes to generate virtual objects that can be seen and touched . Touching means being able to experience the physical effects of actually touching the object with the probe. This proposal will create an interactive exhibit that uses these haptic interfaces to enable the members of the public to explore 3D data and structures.
