Summary on Grant Application Form |
The project is concerned with the development of control mechanisms for quantum computing with solid state circuits based on classical guidance laws. The distinction between control and guidance is one of timeliness. Control mechanisms aim to minimise the error between the actual state of the system and the desired state throughout its evolution. Guidance simply aims to minimise the difference between the predicted state and the desired state at the end of the evolution. The project will underpin and enhance experimental work in quantum computing and provide new mechanisms to explore decoherence in mesoscopic and nanoscopic objects.
