Summary on Grant Application Form |
The team at Edinburgh, in collaboration with partners at IBM, Manchester and Newcastle, have developed OGSA-DAI a widely used grid M/W system. We propose to continue the development and support of OGSA-DAI in close collaboration with OMII Southampton and myGrid: an OMII-UK node in Manchester. We will draw on each other's experiences to further strengthen our software enginneering processes in order to deliver higher quality, robust e-Infrastructure components to the UK research and industrial community. We will continue to offer support to projects and users that have adopted OGSA-DAI, both on the OMII and GT4 platforms. These will include major overseas projects.By continuing our collaboration with OMII Southampton, we will arrange efficient delivery of new data access and integration functionality that works conveniently and effectively with their products.By continuing our close collaboration with the Manchester team, we will continue to jointly develop distributed query technology and we will additionally develop integrations with their workflow system Taverna. In the longer term, we expect to have a well integrated road map with coordinated delivery and development providing well-engineered e-Infrastructure for UK researchers and industry.
