Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Technological Plasma Workshop has already provided an excellent forum for the promotion of the rapidly developing field of technological plasmas within the UK. It has also provided the opportunity for academics in plasma science and technology to foster closer links with end-users, as well as to develop new ideas and collaborations. However, we wish in the next meeting (Dec. 2005 in Heriot-Watt University) to increase greatly the involvement and participation of young scientists (PhD students, Research Associates and Research Fellows), through the provision of free registration and living costs. The enthusiasm and drive of the next generation of scientists is key to the future success of UK Plasma Science as a whole. With this in mind, it is our objective that this grant proposal will both help deliver the continued success of the TPW and strengthen the future academic base.
