Summary on Grant Application Form |
The project aims to carry out a feasibility study on the detection of elementary radiation damage events - radiation-induced nanoscale stress wave emission in crystalline wasteforms - using the high sensitivity of the acoustic emission technique. The project is focused on Zircon which is an important material for geological dating and immobilisation of actinides over geological time scales.
