To develop a high resolution Magnetic Force Microscope utilising recent advances in interferometric sensing techniques and nanolithographic tip fabrication. With equal prior (a) acquire quantitative data by full S/TEM tip characterisation and micro magnetic modelling and (b) investigate surface magnetic micro structure in bulk magnetic materials with particular emphasis on recording media.
