1) To create a toolset which embraces the various stages of the life-cycle of CIM systems, thereby significantly advancing contemporary practice in their design, implementation and management.2) To evaluate the toolset in UK manufacturing plants.3) To enable the rapid specification, design and assessment of user-defined integrated manufacturing systems, and to automate much of the generation and implementation of the resulting software systems.4) To facilitate the creation of open, incrementally expandable CIM systems on a much wider scale.
