Summary on Grant Application Form
The principle objectives of this proposal are: (1) to research into optical fibre point sensor systems exploiting low coherence signal recovery with nanometre resolution. (2) to investigate the optimum form of precision tracking stage and to develop this and other components into a universal measuring head for fibre optic sensor systems. (3) to investigate and demonstrate methods of simultaneous interrogation of many different fibre sensors using a single measuring head.
