Summary on Grant Application Form |
To test the strengths and weaknesses of liquid-crystal and infra-red thermal imaging techniques for measuring surface temperatures on air-cooled rotating discs. To use the measured temperatures together with appropriate solutions of the conduction equations, to calculate the heat transfer co-efficients for the rotating discs. To use the experimental data to validate CFD codes and to provide data for the designer of internal air systems of gas-turbine engines.
