To conduct research into novel computer based tools for process design, simulation, operation and control, exploiting the expertise of process and other engineers, mathematicians and computer scientists.Research topics:i) Intelligent systems for complex process design problems.ii) Simulation methods to exploit and initiate the development of new computer hardware.iii) Integrated approach to the problems of controlling complex chemical plants.iv) Development and exploitation of mixed non-linear integer optimisation methods for large scale systems.
