Summary on Grant Application Form |
To establish an understanding of the mechanisms involved in the gas assisted thick section laser cutting process. Study of the gas, melt and reaction dynamics is undertaken in order to determine the influential quality determining processes. The main objective of this program is to produce a good quality thick section laser cutting process up to 40mm in thickness when using a conventional 2kW CO2 laser.
