Summary on Grant Application Form |
The overall purpose of this project is to develop an intelligent systems architecture for monitoring decision support in intavenous anaesthesia, with the following main objectives:1) Obtain multi-sensor patient models for infusion anaesthesia and interacting effects of propofol and analgesic opioids using expert systems and neural network techniques. 2) Develop a unified fuzzy logic and neural network framework for on-line decision support in integrated anaesthesia. 3) Investigate a fuzzy logic based hierarchical architecture for supervisory monitoring and alarms in anaesthesia. 4) Compare the above fuzzy logic structures with numerically-based adaptive algorithms such as Generalised Predictive Control (GPC).
