Summary on Grant Application Form
To measure the effect of shear on the structure of adsorbed polymers using both solvent flux and plate-shear methods. Neutron reflectivity will be used to measure the volume fraction profiles of adsorbed polymer layers as a function of shear. A bead-rod model will be developed using Brownian dynamics to describe the effect of shear on the structure of adsorbed layers using a parallel supercomputer based in Bristol.
