Summary on Grant Application Form |
We are investigating the implications of a Desk Area Network (DAN) based workstation on operating system designed by extending the ESPRIT Pegasus Quality of Service architecture to the DAN. The key issues are scheduling of interconnection resources, software control / scheduling of caching, and support of heterogeneous processors.Progress:The Pegasus architecture has been evaluated with regards to the DAN. This work has provided significant input to the subsequent Pegasus implementation work.Current work is based on effective fair share algorithms scheduling the DAN switch fabric.
