Summary on Grant Application Form |
Recent work has indicated that shock waves can generate turbulence and that this mechanism is absent from existing turbulence models. Furthermore, the shock amplifies or attenuates some of the turbulence scales leading to the idea that a form of turbulence control can be developed. This proposal is aimed at understanding the nature of turbulence/shock interaction with a view to developing turbulence models and control strategies for a variety of practical problems.
