Summary on Grant Application Form
To undertake a survey of cell manufacturing facilities to establish the links between main quality results obtained and their most likely causes. To produce a design methodology which will allow a new or re-loaded cell to achieve parts-per-million defect levels within 3 to 6 months of start-up.To test this methodology in the design of at least six pilot cells. To encapsulate the generic design methodology in a manual and specific tools in protected information technology software. To provide a variety of effective exploitation routes suitable for companies varying widely in industry, internal competence and size.
