(1) To make 1-substituted cyclohexa-2,5-diene-1-carboxylates and 2-substituted 2,5-dihydrofuran-2-carboxylates and to examine their intra and intermolecular reactions.(2)To make and study similar reactions of 1-alkyl cyclohexadiene-1-carboxylic acids, particularly 1-trimethylsilyl derivatives.(3)To extend these reactions to oxygen and nitrogen centred radicals.(4)To determine kinetic parameters for individual steps.
