The electrochemical nucleation of metals at liquid-liquid interfaces will be investigated. The kinetics of cluster formation and growth will be studied using fast transient techniques. Optical properties of clusters will be studied using transmission spectroscopy, and the reactivity of the electrochemically generated clusters to dehalogenation reactions will be investigated. Liquid-liquid interfaces are ideally suited for these studies.
