Summary on Grant Application Form |
It is proposed to develop and implement using model 3-D granular flow experiments a tomographic technique which would allow the simultaneous measurement of velocity and voidage profiles in a flowing bed of granular solids. The power and versatility of the dual photon transmission tomography willbe demonstrated in three types of flow configurations where the current alternative techniques cannot yield the required information. The results obtained from the experimental work will be used to advance the current theoretical models of 3-D granular flows.
