Summary on Grant Application Form |
The main objectives of the proposed programme of work are to:Extend previous work on the intelligent manual to allow the Engineer to input the mathematical and logic models for the system, define the conditions under which each model is valid, define the overall design changes.Provide an intelligent link between FRIL and Mathematica so that the appropriate system descriptions can be transferred from the intelligent manual module to Mathematica, a link map can be constructed to connect the knowledge base in the FRIL module to the mathematical models in Mathematica to aid in the management of dealing with queries and explanations.Develop a case based reasoning investigator module for evaluating the behaviour of various parts of the design, comparing different designs and finding the effect of various assumptions.Provide a query and explanation module that will allow the engineer to ask relevant questions and receive appropriate answers, provide a layered explanation facility to give appropriate explanations of required depth and detail.Integrate the various modules to form an intelligent software design environment that will allow the engineer to experiment with various designs, provide a general help facility for all aspects of the environment.Provide the following demonstrators: 1) Mechanisms for dispersion demostrator, 2) Design of pursuit Command and Control System demonstrator, and 3) Design of Fuzzy Controllers for Car Control System
