Summary on Grant Application Form
An initial objective is the development of procedures for [2,3]-Wittig rearrangements of monofluoroalkenes that achieve1. Asymmetric induction via a chiral auxiliary or2. Efficient chirality transfer from an existing stereogenic centre of defined absolute configuration, establishing two new stereogenic centres with control of diastereoisomeric purity. The products that obtain will be elaborated to fluoroanalogues of pentoses and hexoses.
