Summary on Grant Application Form |
We will investigate the quantum properties of nuclei by the techniques of gamma-ray spectroscopy. In particular we are studying many properties associated with super-deformed nuclei and other phenomena at high spin. We will mainly work with the EUROGAM PLhase 2 Spectrometer at Strasbourg. This will be complemented by work at Jyvaskyla using TESSA and the electron spectrometer with heavy ions. We request funds for upgrading EUROGAM to EUROBALL, manpower support, detector repairs, updatng of computing facilities, gas and silicon detectors, consumables and travel to overseas laboratories and conferences.
