Summary on Grant Application Form |
A and B to run in parallel: (A) To design, synthesize and characterize new inorganic, open-structure solid catalysts consisting of (i) crystalline synthetic ferrierites (of defined Si/Al ratios and Brnsted acid-site location), (ii) zinc-based phosphates, vanadium-containing ALPOs, (iii) mesoporous silicas containing active redox elements. (B) To exploit our unique combined EXAFS/XRD in situ facility for studies of structure-catalytic performance relationships (of MeALPOS, with Me = V, Co and Ti). To pursue IR and solid-state NMR studies of intracrystalline isomerizations of alkenes and keto-enol systems. Project C, complementing A and B, is a computational study of solid-acid and other new catalysts.
