Summary on Grant Application Form |
1.To carry out a total synthesis of the novel tris-oxazole containing macrolides known as ulapualides (also halichondramides, kabiramides, mycalolides) found in maine nudibranches and sponges.2.To provide unambiguous total syntheses of the lissocinamide family of thiazole-based cyclic peptide ionophores produced by marine tunicates.3.To examine and to rationalise the metal-chelating capabilities of these marine metabolites through direct studies, modelling, and biological profiling.
