Summary on Grant Application Form |
The project aims to develop modelling , simulation, systems analysis and controldesign tools for two-dimensional systems with emphasis on the use of the behavioural approach due to Willems and operator theoretical approaches previously introduced by the applicants in the theory of repetitive dynamical systems. A major aim is the use of and extension of the current 2D systems theory which uses quarter plane causality to more general and more useful forms such as that met in the recursive structure if iterative learning control (currently studied by the applicants under grant GR/H48286). The development of canonical forms, controllability and observability conditions for 2D and repetitive systems using algebraic and analytical tools. The extension of previous studies on controller structure selection and controller design procedures. Application of the results to iterative learning control algorithms and delay systems. Software development for process simulation and controller design.
