Summary on Grant Application Form
This is a collaborative project between Keele University and the University of Central Lancashire which will run in parallel with the experimental studies at Preston (supported by SERC Grant GR/J 99457). The aim of the project is to carry out a theoretical study of the microstructure of Ba Ferrite particulate dispersions with special reference to the problem of stacking. The model will use a molecular dynamic approach to the prediction of microstructures coupled with a cluster moving technique developed by the Keele Group. Predicted microstructures will be used to study noise power flux spectra which will be studied in relation to stacking using standard techniques and also the ideas of chaos theory currently being developed by the Preston Group for experimental data analysis. The proposal represents an excellent opportunity to combine theory and experiment in the investigation of an important physical and technical problem.
