Summary on Grant Application Form |
This project will assess and compare genetically engineered algorithms (genetic algorithms underpinned by knowledge-based systems) against lagrangian relaxation as the best engine for solving the unit commitment/economic despatch problem. As a secondary aim it will develop or use a computerised procedure to forecast electricity demand using both statistical techniques and rule based algorithms. It will also explore and ascertain the best parallel environment.
