Summary on Grant Application Form |
1. To enable complex situations on high speed linked networks to be modelled efficiently and accurately. 2. To research the interaction of analytical modelling, simulation and measured data to produce an efficient hybrid tool for network management.Progress:Initial work has centred on comparisons of the relative accuracies of network performance characteristics generated by simulation and analytical modelling. The initial studies were based upon simple single queues with statistically defined input characteristics, We are now applying simulated VBR video to the simulations and models. These results will indicate the relative accuracies expected in a hybrid simulator.
