1. To investigate the development of tools for the construction of value added services on high-speed networks. 2. In particular, to develop intelligent agents that provide services to system developers.3. To exemplify and assess the tools by building a distance learning support application.Progress:A preliminary investigation is being carried out into the set of services needed by developers to support both synchronous and asynchronous applications, such as real-time meetings and information search and retrieval. In addition, an assessment of current high-speed infrastructure is being undertaken.
