Summary on Grant Application Form |
The principal objectives of the proposed research are as follows:1) to verify the predictions of the Stokes number analysis of agglomeration regimes on a laboratory scale;2) to extend this analysis to consider the effects of time-variant binder properties and to test the theory developed on a laboratory scale;3) to extend the analysis to consider energy dissipation on collision in the bulk of the colliding agglomerates leading to plastic deformation and/or fracture, and again to test these conclusions experimentally;4) to apply the conclusions obtained above to pilot-scale agglomeration processes operated by Unilever Research.
