This project involves collaboration between researchers from Liverpool University (Prof. O' Connor and associates, Mr Hedges), Plymouth University (Dr. A.Chadwick and associates) and Bristol University (Dr. Loveless). The aims of the Project are to gain a better understanding of nearshore processes, especially in the presence of complicated bathymetry and reflecting structures; the collection of model (CRF) data and field (Elmer site) data; the testing of wave period-averaged and intra-wave period hydrodynamic models, the latter being used to include the effects of wave reflection; the testing of wave period-averaged morphodynamic models, including the effects of fluidization on sediment transport.
