Summary on Grant Application Form |
There is currently a lack of assessment tools capable of evaluating the synergies between multiple ATT systems in the same environment. Equally lacking in the public domain is information about the likely costs of these systems and the synergies between their costs. As a result of these two gaps there is currently no guidance for public and private decision-makers about the optimal combination of the various available technologies. The purpose of the project is to start to full these gaps by developing a behaviourally rich assessment tool considering multiple technologies, by developing simple costing models for the technologies and by testing both in a realistic urban/suburban network. The evaluation tool will be capable of modelling day-to-day interactions in an environment with non-recurrent congestion allowing for mode, departure time, (pre- and within- trip) route choice. The model will build on the experiences gained during the work by Emmerinck et al and a current EPSRC project undertaken at Imperial College.
