Summary on Grant Application Form
We shall study novel organo-Ln and -Zr complexes, initially derived from [LnCp3 ] [Cp = C5H3 (SiMe3)2-1, 3] or [{ZrCp2(m-Cl)}2].Targets: Ce(I), CeI/Ce(II), Ce(IV) and Zr(II), which will be examined as novel 1- and 2- electron reducing agents and oxidants which cleave C-O bonds in a radical fashion. We shall extend the range of 4f element complexes which form h6- bonds with arenas and polyenes, and prepare Ln amides using as a ligand a derivative of 1, 1-bis (2, 2-naphthylamine), which will be studied as enantioselective catalysts, e.g. in hydrosilylation; data will be compared with those using Pt(O) or new Ni(O) complexes of (Me2ViSi)2O. From this disiloxane, we hope to generate new Ln (O) complexes.
