Summary on Grant Application Form |
The integration of circuits and antennas to form quasi optic power combining devices for millimetric wavelength systems overcomes many of the fundamental problems experienced in designing communications and sensor systems. It is proposed to investigate the use of currently available MMIC processes to develop new devices that operate above 40GHz and to study the linearisation techniques necessary to obtain good efficiency and spectral control of such devices. The work will combine in novel ways the expertise of Birmingham University in printed circuit antennas and microwave/millimetre circuit devices.
