Summary on Grant Application Form |
To investigate how clients can obtain clear deliverables from the use of novel visualization devices acting as an interface between potential customers, of a clients non technical operational staff and design team, during the project design and delivery process. For example; a design solution or option at any stage, of a detailed sub design for say a customer toilet unit. Client benefits would include harnessing non technical operational staff and user knowledge, experience and customer feedback, during the project design process. An aim is to develop process re-engineering solutions, that allow the benefits of novel visualization technology to be harnessed. To identify the key process improvements needed, to offer solutions and to develop a training programme for senior personnel, to facilitate ingrained culture/attitude changes and develop new skills. Also to develop a prediction score methodology of a design option, in terms of performance in use i.e. how to predict customer reaction to a particular layout or interior and then to take regular soundings of customer reaction to a design as it evolves. Finally to investigate in generic and specific terms, on selected building types, customer preferences and then harness them.
