Summary on Grant Application Form
qIn recent years there has been remarkable progress on discrete integrable systems and associated difference equations. This proposal focuses on quantum aspects of discrete many-body problems that were recently discovered. These systems have unexpected connections with Bethe Ansatz equations describing spectra of inhomogeneous quantum spin chains. The research aims at developing the theory around these systems further and to exploit above-mentioned connections to study the representation theory of the associated quantum algebras. Technical expertise on the method of separation of variables that will be used as a major tool is brought in by the prospective RA. This work consolidates the nonlinear group in Leeds and the expertise in the UK in this area of research.
