Summary on Grant Application Form |
The objective of this programme is to develop an approach to modelling the initiation, growth and propagation of fractures in adhesive joints integrating phenomenological models at the nanoscale, microscopic and continuum physics level. Such an approach is intended to expose the fundamental mechanisms of failure (such as in the peel morphology) and facilitate the development of practical analytical techniques for exploitation in the context of high integrity manufacture.
