Summary on Grant Application Form |
We will probe the relation between molecular and electronic structures of 3d transition metal complexes using several techniques (light excitation to excited states, X-ray crystallography, 3d K and L edge XAFS, ligand field spectroscopy, FTIR, 13C NMR and SQUID magnetochemistry) under varying conditions of temperature and pressure. Population inversions created by excitation will be probed as potential new laser materials.
