Summary on Grant Application Form |
We shall develop a theory of situated abstract data types (SADTs) as a means of descibing tacit information structures revealed by video-based ethnomethodological studies of work practices and interactions. The theory will decribe how a SADT relates to empirical evidence and it will provide a basis for relating the SADT to (non-situated) abstract data types through a documented process of formalism. A mock-up of a workbench for performing and recording this type of requirements analysis will be developed to support the proof of concept. The theory will be based on data from case studies of industrial environments.
