Summary on Grant Application Form |
The feasibility of bacteriorhodopsin thin films as photochromic parallel digital memory media will be tested against well-specified cache memory parameters. Modifications of the protein environment and chromophore substitution will be used to optimise for the specified optical functionality and etalon structures will be fabricated to test the enhancement of the optical response.
