Summary on Grant Application Form |
This proposal forms part of the D&IP electronic product design and manufacture initiative. The proposal has two themes: Theme 1 aims to understand and disseminate packaging interconnection, and manufacturing technology trends in the area of the initiative; Theme 2 aims to understand the impact of these trends on the embodiment of higher value electronic system, explore the issues associated with the development of embedded software for such systems and to create a mapping of the couplings inherent in the design of high value electronic products of importance to the UK electronics cluster. A parallel proposal has been made to the Royal Society for an Industrial Fellowship in collaboration with Rolls Royce and Lucas Electronics in order to contribute to the work from a part time base within industry.
