Summary on Grant Application Form |
We propose to develop new near field optical imaging techniques by combining optically trapped particle probes with confocal reflection and interferometric detection methods. We also propose to introduce optical fibres, both single and multimode, in order to create the trapping field as well as to provide the confocal information. The techniques will be used to investigate magneto-optic recording materials and nanofabrication products.
