Summary on Grant Application Form
This research is concerned with the development and application of novel gain-scheduling techniques to improve the wide-envelope performance of nonlinear controllers based on linear operating point designs. Theoretical research will focus on intelligent interpolation schemes, special controller structures and the use of -analysis and -synthesis. Applied research will focus on the design of helicopter flight control systems leading to higher performance, easier handling, decreased pilot workload and safer flying.
