Summary on Grant Application Form
The basic design of a fume cupboard consists of a cupboard, an exhaust and an inlet and up to the present the design and operating conditions has not substantially changed over a number of years. The main aim of this project is to mathematically and computationally investigate the effects of using the Aaberg principle applied at several different locations. Then we will mathematically and computationally investigate the additional effects of the location of internal baffles, the location of the exhaust duct, the design of the handle of the fume cupboard and the effect of the fume cupboard operator on the efficiency of operation of the fume cupboard.
