Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of the proposed research is to develop a new synthetic approach to biologically important, naturally occuring enediynes. The work will involve using recently developed methodolgy for the preparation of fully functionalised A/B ring precursor. Several approaches to the construction of the central A/B ring systems will then be examined with the aim of preparing an advanced intermediate for the completion of the total synthesis. Further progress will involve the transformation of the advanced intermediate to a naturally occurring target, Neocarzinostatin.
