Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of the work described in this proposal is to evaluate and develop a new non-intrusive optical technique for surface temperature measurement called laser induced flourescence thermometry. The technique will be evaluated for use in gas turbine combustors and around the outlet guide vanes. The technique is expected to yield temperature data simultaneously across a surface with improved accuracy and at greater speed than conventional techniques. Hence this technique will contribute to the developement of more cost effective, safe, reliable and low emission gas turbines.
