Summary on Grant Application Form
We request funding for a Scientific Programmer to develop new and integrate existing numerical software to support and address the common research projects of the investigators as outlined in the Case for Support. These projects span a wide range of nonlinear mathematics in non linear optics, pattern formation, biology and hydrodynamics. The programmer will greatly enhance our productivity in this direction. In addition, the programmer develops a user friendly package, TANS or Toolkits which will include a variety of modules developed in the above research for simulation and analysis of the associated pdes and dynamical systems, and the data generated by them. The development of the computational framework for this toolkit will be of general importance for the development of such packages across the sciences.
