Summary on Grant Application Form
This proposal is relevant to the research councils aim to promote wealth creation in the UK through research leading to the manufacture and sale of new machines. The project described here is concerned with the proof of concpet testing of a novel refrigerator machine. The project aims to manufacture and test a laboratory scale ( SkW cooling) refrigerator based on a novel heat-powered vapour recompression-absorption cycele invented by the applicant. Refrigerators desinged to this new concept will potentially have lower cost per kW of cooling than existing heat powered machines. A 2 year experimental programme is proposed in order to prove the concept and demonstrate the technology to future industrial partners.
