Summary on Grant Application Form |
The direct measurement of the force/separation function for particles (attached to an AFM tip), approaching a mica substrate of opposite charge, in the presence of adsorbed/grafted polyelectrolytes, and as a function of the extent of pre-coverage of substrate with particles. A comparison with Monte-Carlo a simulation of the deposition process, in which adsorbed particles can relax on the surface.
