Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed research is to investigate the use of adjoint solutions of the compressible Navier-Stokes equation for optimal design and for grid adaptation to reduce numerical discretisation errors. It will adress basic mathematical questions in the formulation and solution of the discrete adjoint equations and their use in error analysis, as well as starting to develop algorigthms and software to apply these ideas to real aeronautical problems.
